These are designed to produce high frequencies from approximately Hz to 20,Hz. Here, the cone is 6. The dome tweeter is 1 inch in diameter, which is fairly standard in modern monitors. The frequency response is from 43Hz to 30kHz. Again, it comes down the size, with a larger cone diameter of 8 inches. The dome tweeter is the same 1 inch.
The frequency response is from 38Hz to 30kHz. Each of the Yamaha monitors, there is a bi-amp design. There is a dedicated amp for the woofer and another one for the tweeter. Once again, you will be able to appreciate the higher numbers.

We can even go to the extent of saying that these studio monitors present a true and honest picture of the music that is produced. They are an integral part of most studios and almost every professional has these active studio monitors to listen to music, mix them and for other music-related work.
Many companies specialize in making these monitors, but Yamaha is one of the handfuls of manufacturers that has made a mark for itself in this niche area of sound systems.
Yamaha studio monitors are one of the most popular brands of studio monitors today, and within it the HS series is probably its flagship product. This series comes after its wildly popular NS10 that was discontinued in The company cited that it was hard to get the parts for making the woofers located inside the NS But in reality, this discontinuation of NS10 has more to do with the fact that Yamaha wanted to experiment with a better series of products that are modelled after the NS10, but at the same time, have attributes that reflect the changes in technology.
And this is how you have the HS series. A significant difference in these three products is their size and the sound output that results from it. Out of these three, HS7 and HS8 are extremely popular and many users see to them as competitive products too. Yamaha HS7 and HS8 are similar in many ways, and yet they are different. They are suited for different situations and genres and this is what makes them intense competitors in their own respective areas.
In this article, we will explore these similarities and differences and through it, will help you make the right buying choices. Both Yamaha HS7 and HS8 have a similar design that seems to have been borrowed from their classic NS10, the sealed box that has somewhat become an icon of a studio monitor today.
Of course, there are some differences too when compared to NS10, the most notable of which is the ported design. NS10 had a closed cabinet design that weakened the bass and made it sound much quieter than it should. To avoid this design flaw, Yamaha made all the active monitors in the HS series ported, so they good bass output as well.
That said, there are a few minor variations between HS7 and HS8 when it comes to design. HS7 has a mesh grille protecting the tweeter, just like NS In addition, its ported design is made specifically for studio monitoring. At World of Stereo we've been putting the entire Yamaha line through it's paces on our busy San Francisco sales floor and have been impressed with not only HS7's stereo imaging, but the power Yamaha has managed to pack into this well priced studio monitor.

The reality is that you pay for what you get, but there is something to be said for getting the most bang out of your buck. The the level of clarity is great, and any adjustments needed to allow you to mix to a more true sound is found on the back of the speakers. Regarding the other pieces of equipment, I must say I was delighted that I could get everything here for the same price as the speakers alone from other sites. But for this bundled price, you were able to pay no more for much better equipment.
I cannot say that I hear the difference from a Monster Cable and a Mogami cable, but since I am not paying any extra for the "superior" cable, I can't complain. Depending on the size of your room, the cable length may be an issue for optimal positioning. In my home studio, it works well.
The Auralex pads do exactly what is advertised, and they look much better than the cheaper options. The pads also give you several option on how to angle your speakers. I set mine up flap due to my carpeted floors, and that keeps the speakers centered and out of risk of falling off the stands. Several reviewers say these will work just the same as the more expensive alternatives. Regarding the speaker stands-- they honestly feel a bit unstable on carpeted floor, so positioning your speakers and pads in a manner that keeps them absolutely centered is crucial.
The platform upon which you set the speakers on feels a bit small, especially since the isolation pads are a bit longer than the platform.
The base's triangular design seems like a good idea, but there is risk of tipping at each of the sides. Once again, must of what is mentioned here can be resolved with careful setup or a small flat hard surface underneath the stands. If you are working on hard floors or less shaggy carpet, this may not be an issue at all.
In summary, this bundle is great for folks who are looking to upgrade to a more "professional" setup without the added weight and expense of buying the other essential equipment.
They are super flat and clear. These certainly do the trick! They have a really flat response. My mixes are translating to other systems much better than before. Not much else I can say past whats in the title. They will need a subwoofer to cover some frequencies in the low end if you are planning on playing some hard hitting electronic, but these speakers can stand up by themselves for all around sound quality in both the low and high ends. Compared to all other models I tried at Guitar Center, these were the best and I can absolutely recommend them to others.
